Dahlia Mystery Pack – 5 Tubers Per Pack

Mystery Pack: 5 assorted dahlia tubers per pack!

While we now overwinter most of our dahlias, we always do have some tubers available from clumps we need to move, want more of, etc. We are selling these unlabelled dahlias in a pack. In each pack there will be 5 dahlia tubers. These could be anything from a dinnerplate variety all the way to little pom poms and anything in between, but they are all strong cultivars we use here on the farm and are suitable for cut flowers.

Normally we ship tubers in early spring, but due to changes to regulations (more info HERE) we need to ensure tubers are completely dormant when shipped. This means tubers will be shipped out earlier than normal, so appropriate storage will be required. However, with years of experience, we are able to recognise eyes before they shoot, so tubers will all be viable. This will depend on how the tubers go while in storage for the next few weeks, so we will update everyone when the tubers are ready to be shipped out.

How to Grow

Dahlias prefer to grow in full sun. After the risk of frost has passed, plant the tuber horizontal under the soil at about 15cm deep and 30cm- 45cm apart. Once the dahlia shoots begin to appear above the soil you can then start to water them. They prefer regular watering from low to the ground (eg drippers) and not overhead spraying so that the petals aren’t marked. Dahlias need to be staked or corralled for support as the plant matures. Days to maturity 80-120 days.

Shipping is $16 for the first pack, with a $5 surcharge for each subsequent pack ordered.

Please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your dahlia tubers (with photographs) if there are any issues on arrival of your order. After the intial 48 hours has passed it will be your responsibility to take care of the dahlia tuber and either store them correctly or plant them. Every climate and soil type is different so it is very important you learn what works in your individual climate.

N.B. Regrettably, we cannot send tubers to Western Australia, N.T. and Tasmania due to quarantine restrictions.
